Blue Heron Days -Lino Lakes

The first Blue Heron Days Festival was held in 2004.   Blue Heron Days was so named because Lino Lakes has the second largest Blue Heron rookery in the state.   The Blue Heron has been the city logo for many years, symbolizing the area's beauty & natural amenities.

A highlight of the Festival is a parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday on Lake Drive, starting at Target and ending just short of Main Street.   The parade has become more popular each year, with celebrity grand marshals and guest emcees, floats, local organizations and businesses, and the Lino Lakes Ambassadors riding on the city float.

Shawn Silvera Rotary Run

Join us for the 14th annual Officer Shawn Silvera Rotary Run as part of the 2019 Blue Heron Days.  This event includes a certified, chip-timed 5K run with a Public Safety Challenge competition.  This year we are also introducing the NEW hot dog mile with a High School Challenge competition.  This fun run is for those who want to run, walk, blade or stroll, perhaps even with a furry companion. Pre-registered participants get a hot dog and a custom bandana.

Whether this is your 1st, 10th or 100th race, please join us to help honor Shawn’s memory, celebrate his legacy, and pay tribute to our community.

Event proceeds benefit the MN Law Enforcement Explorers Scholarship Fund, MN Concerns of Police Survivors and Centennial High School STRIVE Scholarship.

Sponsored by the Chain of Lakes Rotarians, SMW Financial Credit Union, the Y in Lino Lakes and the City of Lino Lakes Parks & Recreation Department.
